abusive stepfather who was one of the original jws in the area, so much so, that it was called the xxxxx family religion.... been out for 25 years, am glad every day for that!!.

Did anyone mention that they lost a lawsuit over molestation for millions? Like 28 million or so to Candace Conti? Check it out. Can't believe no one mentioned it.

The Governing Body told two Elders to call !!!!
by Phizzy ina friend from the other end of the country just 'phoned and told me that a couple of days ago two elders knocked on his door.
he has been out for four or more years.. they told him it was c.o's visit, and the governing body have asked them to call on those whom they no longer see at the k.hall.. i guess this is an easier "field" than knocking on doors that never open, or where they are told "not interested".. my friend bill though, was not such an easy call.
apparently he managed to get in about 1914 being rubbish, the bible not being the word of god, because we cannot trust it, 1919 being rubbish as to the choosing of the fds and several other telling points.. i liked particularly that he said to them they were rather hypocritical asking householders to examine their faith, when jw's were simply not allowed to !.

Any Suggestions on what to say if elders ask why you stopped going in FS?
by BU2B ini was curious what might be some good things to say if i am questioned by the elduurs about my decline in fs.
anything too honest may get me a jc (although that would be for the best in the end..) the co visit is this week so they may be getting more agressive than usual.

Use their own strategy. Pad your time, it doesn't mean anything anyway and it will get them off your back. Eventually make them call you for your time in six months and just dont be available. I assume you are missing meetings like a good little preapostate. Just say you are doing more informal witnessing due to a busy schedule, they will back off, then gradually let it go down an hour a month or so and then skip a month in three months. Just let it flow. This will get them off your back so you become lousy association and people leave you alone, they sure as hell wont try to help you. Otherwise tell them to shove it if you like. Man I hate that feeling of having these self appointed saviors on your ass.

If they were to partake before the second wednesday in the moth of May when Freddy Franz died they might count, but not the third wednesday because we all know the Jubilee cycle would be off by a year in that case. Duh?

Your Experience with Resigning as an Elder
by committeechairman ini'm considering resigning as an elder.
i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.
and i'm completely exhausted.

I was doing everything, I mean EVERYTHING, District Parts, sub CO, TMS School, Pioneer School you name it. But I was diabetic and was very ill, no joke. I pushed and pushed but almost did myself in. When I removed myself they fought it, mainly because they were lazy and didn't want to have to take up the slack. In our cong you did it till you died with your boots on. Not me. So when I did I actually had a publisher ask me if he could still talk to me? I almost said, "don't bother." Needless to say they were angry and not so understanding. Definitely self centered. The relief saved my life, I could concentrate on my health. I had pioneered for 9 years up to that point so it was a shock to everyone. A relief to me though. They never did treat me the same. It helped me to make the decision to get out of that emotionally abusive religion at last. Yeah! I don't look back.

A couple of grads from the "Couple's school" are now serving in the local congregation after finishing. They will be here a year. I asked what work he does. I was told he is a special pioneer. So that's a meager amount from HQ right? So where will they live I asked. "The congregation is paying rent on a house for them for the year, we voted on it!"
Ok so what's the difference between that and a parsonage? ITs payed clergy no matter how you slice it. Is this more WT hypocrisy? I pioneered for over 9 years and the jerks could hardly cough up gas money. Is this like when they all vote to pay for the CO's expenses after his visit? We all know how voluntary that is.
Have you heard of this before? It always pisses me off when they say they have no paid clergy. What a load. Give us your thoughts and experiences with this sort of BS.
